Please take some time to explore these links and any others you find that might be of interest. There are many interconnected websites that focus on various aspects of the neighborhood. I would love more information about the following:
1) The history of Egleston Square and how that could be woven into the curriculum
2) Funding opportunities & neighborhood initiatives from the city and how those could be woven into the projects or parternships
3) The grassroots efforts by community members
These links should help you get started, if you find other, applicable sites, please post them! P
Please post your ideas as blog comments.
Thanks!

ReplyDeleteThe Franklin Park coalition...lots of potential. I'm thinking of an entire ELS curriculum. You could work on creating a field guide. Learning about what lives in the park. Testing the water. Cleaning up the park. What can you learn about the people that visit the park? Is there a place to create a garden? Lots of potential uses in a park. The difficulty is that it would likely be limited to the first and last sections of the year due to stupid boston weather.
